Ignite As God has stirred my heart for Cardiff and for Wales, he has especially given me heart for young people to rise up, find their identity in Christ, realise that nothing is impossible through God, and that they can see revival in their own lives. This passion has led me to get involved with Ignite. I absolutely love Ignite’s vision, “God’s purpose for this generation” and I really love Gary Smith for pursuing this. I started going to the Ignite events when I first ...

I made the most important decision of my life to follow Jesus at the age of 9. I’d always known about God as I had been brought up in a Christian family who took me to church every week. I remember enjoying church and loved listening to the stories in the bible about Jesus and all the miracles he did, however I did not understand how and why God had anything to do with me. It took me years to truly accept what Jesus had done for me on the cross and one evening it finally clicked and that&r...

In primary school, I was always chosen to do the speaking parts in school assemblies or give my opinion or speak to the class. I’ve never been shy or quiet as some of you who know me have probably found out. When I wasn’t asked to speak to the class I’d still be talking to who ever was sat next to me, whether they wanted to listen or not. It’s just one thing I loved doing. Life was as good as a kid’s life could get, I had scooby strings and a tamagotchi, so I wasn...

Being part of Ignite has had such a positive impact on my life. Ignite, through their passionate commitment to reach the youth of today have brought two of my three children to faith. Jesus has saved Jack and Sarah’s souls, but Ignite were the facilitators. Jack [16] and Sarah [14] were invited to a local IgniteHope event in 2008. We weren’t attending a church, but Jack’s friend did and he was very keen for them to be involved. They were based in Dinas Powys and were assi...

I was living life in the fast lane, get through the school day, do some GCSE’s, do some A-levels, go to Uni and get a good job. There, life done. But before I could even start the GCSE part the plans were stopped in their tracks. I was invited to a ‘music gig’ called Ignite, it was not exactly what I thought it would be. It turned out it was a ‘youth’ church event. There people jumping, dancing and singing decent music. I remember thinking “you can’t do...

I first came to know Jesus when I was just turned 15, I had been going to church for a while with a friend, I liked what I’d seen and heard about Jesus and thought He’d be a good person to have in my life, so I invited Him into my life. Over the next few years I went through the same struggles as most teenagers, I’d be buzzing from attending Church events and be good for weeks, then when the buzz died down I’d get back into getting wasted and just general bad behaviour. ...

My Parents have been committed Christians from before I was born. I don’t think I have been given a better gift than that ever in all of my life (except for the gift of life that God has given me, of course). I don’t remember a particular time I became a Christian as such, I’ve always known that my parents’ lives where shaped by their faith in Jesus, and I learnt from them to trust God. Uganda When I was 7 my parents moved to Uganda, because they believed God had call...

I went to church with my family up until I was about 13. After I stopped going (because it wasn't cool), I got involved with the wrong people. I started swearing a lot, fighting, drinking and smoking. I didn't think smoking weed would be a much bigger deal so I tried it with some "mates" who already did it. I carried on smoking weed for about a year. After that it got a bit boring and my money was low, so I decided to start stealing. This still wasn't enough to feed my habit so I decid...
