What is EZ-36?

An 18 year old from St Mellons writes:

‘Close your eyes and imagine a place where there are broken families, drug and alcohol abuse, crime and desperation for love and attention.
 
now open your eyes ... What is your impression??
 
Close your eyes again and imagine a place on holiday, sun, sand, happy faces, love and a relaxing well looked after place.
 
Now open your eyes ... Out of the two where would you want to be??
 
Well St Mellons is the first option, a place crying out for attention. Positive attention!! Young teenage girls becoming mothers, broken families and children experimenting with drugs and alcohol. I could go on forever telling you what’s wrong with the estate and what it needs, but that isn’t going to get you, me or the estate anywhere. St.Mellons is one place i can say I am proud to be from. It has so much to give, its bursting with energy that just needs to be released. People who have the potential to make something of themselves. But in the midst of the good that can be achieved by the people of the estate there is a lack of love and belief that knocks the people back down ... they are constantly being labelled (you may have some of your own for them/us).

Why is it that it takes someone to have gone through the same stuff or to live in St Mellons to see beyond the labels, to see who they really are??’

EZ36 exists to see that energy released positively, to see people fulfil their potential. Ez36 is in St Mellons to support those who want their estate to stand for something positive. Ez36 exists to show Jesus to the estate, by being there, journeying with, sharing life with and presenting the gospel in a relevant way!

We are crying out for Christians who can see beyond labels, who want to live out their whole lives for Christ and want to be involved in bringing the positive all reaching light of Christ to some of the darkest places!!
